Seems the big lie now is that no one can be charged for torture. Because it didn't happen and even if it did, no one was harmed.

Recent News reports that Obama says those who actually did the physical torture of detainees cannot be tried for their crimes because they were “just following orders.” On the other hand, “those who ordered the torture cannot be tried as they only ordered it – They did not physically participate in the torture.” Therefore no one can be tried for torture. This is a perfect case of Circular Logic.

And a Carbon Copy of the Nuremberg Defense used by Nazi Torturers. Which didn’t save them. Bush, Obama, Congress, Cheney, Political Parties, people, are you listening?

Further the news released about the torture techniques left the impression (by making the claim) that the ordering of torture also made clear that the detainees were not to be physically harmed. And the inference was that none were actually harmed, (thus the claim water boarding used only three times). You’ve all read it, heard it, and seen it.

Problem is, hundreds of detainees were tortured to death. So by what means were they killed? Manadel Al Jamadi was tortured to death at Abu Gharib by Palestinian hanging.

In the Documentary “Taxi to the Darkside”, is a story, among others, of a detainee who was beaten so severely on the legs over a period of weeks that his leg bones were crushed to mush before he died. In this Documentary the testimony of the torturers is given by the torturers personally.

Hundreds of detainees have been tortured to death, but I don’t recall in all this news gush that there ever was a mention that any detainee was actually ever physically hurt. Do you recall hearing about anyone actually being physically harmed? Tens of thousands were tortured, but none were ever physically harmed, or so they say, and I question if none were ever harmed, why did those detainees die during this “non-physical” torture?

What do you think the message of this news spate is all about? Could it be “ We never tortured anybody, and even if we did, nobody was ever hurt”? You think the message might be seeds to sell a horrific lie?

Thank you Steve for the following:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, – for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension- the truth, is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Joeseph Goebbels
29 October 1897 – 1 May 1945

“Naturally the common people don’t want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same for any country.”

Herman Goering to Gustave Gilbert at Nuremberg, 18 April, 1946

In so doing, it has depleted the wealth of a hugely productive economy by consistently encouraging citizens to consume more than they produce.

When Nixon was about to be impeached, he or his aides must have glanced at the Constitution and realized there is no pardon after impeachment. He agreed to resign, be pardoned and that would be the end of it. Many of us protested this ploy, but the Ford Admin said, “We must move on and put this behind us,” and, “Impeaching the President would denigrate the Presidency!”

What could denigrate the Office of the President more than letting murderous, thieving crooks rob the treasury, lie us into wars and condemn millions to death or ruin? What is more impeachable than to take an oath to “Protect and defend the Constitution of the United States” then refer to it as a “Just a God-damned piece of paper.”?

The Constitution lays out the use and need for impeachment and if you read it closely, it amounts to a way of removing forever from office one who has breached the public trust. Most of the Legislature as well as the Executive realizes that they would all be subject to impeachment, removal from office and trial for their breaches of public trust, the lies, evasions, sweetheart bills and kickbacks.

My “Democratic” Congressman wrote me back in 2006 and told me that we had re-elected him, not to end the war or impeach the President, but to add a few cents to the minimum wage and other such great services to the people. He also said he was not convinced that the President had broken any laws! I sent him quotations from the Constitution and Bill of Rights with the things Cheney/Bush had authorized or ordered alongside it. He never responded. When I ran into him at a Democratic BBQ, he turned his back on me and walked off.

In my opinion, they don’t want an impeachment, or anything that will bring the Constitution back into the government because whoever gets to run the show wants to inherit this current criminal mess to use for their own ends, which are probably not far from what the current gang is doing.

Thomas Jefferson wrote, “The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.”

What has been happening for the past several decades is that those chains have been shattered, link by link, by the government; so we now have in place exactly what Jefferson was warning against. There is no way We the People will ever get our Constitution and Bill of Rights back unless we perhaps take another Jefferson quote seriously.

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”

I do not see the power elite that controls this country ever giving up its illegal power without a fight.

As in the case of money-printing policy, if the pool of real savings is declining, massive government outlays cannot revive the economy; on the contrary, they will make things much worse. The only way fiscal stimulus could “work” is if the pool of real savings is still growing. The increase in economic activity when the pool of real savings is expanding is erroneously attributed to the government’s loose fiscal policy. If the pool is shrinking, real economic activity will continue to decline – regardless of any increase in government outlays. Again, government is not a wealth-generating entity; the more it spends, the more it takes from wealth generators, thereby weakening any prospects for a recovery. FULL ARTICLE

Obama, running for the White House, initially talked of restoring the constitutional order, and of prosecuting crimes where they had occurred, much as he talked of ending the war in Iraq. But now, as he increasingly assumes the role of President, he is backing away from that kind of talk, with plans instead to extend the war and occupation in Iraq for years, while actually expanding the war in Afghanistan, and to give the outgoing administration of criminals and Constitution-wreckers a free pass, in the name of “letting bygones be bygones.” Ironically, he is doing this even as some in Congress, including House Judiciary Chair John Conyers, who ducked the issue of impeachment and sat on proposed impeachment articles against Bush and Cheney filed by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) for two critical years when he could have ordered a formal hearing by his committee, are now calling for a special prosecutor. FULL ARTICLE

by Wayne Bruce Allbin

The door into this millennium opens upon a universe of possibilities. We’ve experienced thousands of years of forms of government all of which were deformed by the power which they concentrated. Some great concepts have been strangled by tyrants; others have been/are being corrupted by greed and the abuse of trust.

As of July 12, 2008, the ratio of persons represented in the House of Representatives to the Representatives increases by one person every ten seconds–3,153,600 persons per year. The longer one is alive, the less one is represented.

From the original ratio (1:30,000) when the Constitution was formed, we have fallen to one Representative per 700,192 persons (as of 11:25 pm GMT on 7/12/08), i.e. representation has become 435:304,583,546. Based on the founders’ original intent, each person today is under represented. As of 11:25 pm GMT on 7/12/08, arguably 670,192 persons per Representative are either not represented or are under represented. As of 7/12/08, 435 X 670,192 (persons in excess of 30,000) = 291,533,520 persons in the US either under represented or not represented. This works out to 291,533,520/304,583,628 = 95.75% of the persons in the United States being under represented or not represented according to original intent.

These unheard persons are “heard” screaming in Detroit, in Watts, in New Orleans, San Francisco and everywhere there is injustice. Except in the House of Representatives where they are not heard.

The basic vote of the military-industrial complex, i.e., money, inundates the vote of the ordinary person. The ordinary person’s voice is stifled by 95.75%. Tax legislation is controlled by industry lobbyists. The people’s lobbyists are only the Representatives, yet 95.75% of the people are under represented or not represented. The vox populi is stifled and unheard.

The persons whose voices are effective on Congress are ever fewer minute by minute If the donation of money is a constitutional equivalent of “free speech”, the enormous imbalance in influence and representation which ensues blocks the United States from being a republic with democratic principles. The basic factor of democracy in the United States Congress was designed to be in the House. The very concept, money being a condition precedent to the voting privilege, was discarded by the founders in the Constitutional Convention.

Yet the corporation has such an extraordinary leverage through the power of money, it is able to manipulate Representatives. A grave factor is the diminution of our vote: Article I, Section 2 of the US Constitution provides that representation in the House of Representatives shall not fall below one Representative for every thirty thousand citizens.

In 1929, the House limited the total number of Representatives to 435. The 2000 census counted 281,424,177 people in the US. Rather than the Constitutional ratio, 1:30,000, the 2000 census ratio (435:281,424,177) equates to 1:646,952. No wonder the American government is like a runaway train No one is steering.

The very interests from whom government was created to protect us are in charge. The real question is “what can we do now”?

On Wednesday evening the Senate voted 75-24 to originate and approve the raising of $700 BILLION for the derivatives toxic paper bailout of banks and other financial institutions. (ed: still unconstitutional, Reid’s “tacking on” to a previously-existing House bill, notwithstanding) The vote was unconstitutional. Every Senator who voted in favor is in violation of his or her oath to uphold the Constitution — and we can hold every one of them responsible for knowing it. Every Senator who voted for this unconstitutional legislation is a Constitutional Criminal. FULL ARTICLE
