Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing: Code Pink Going Pro-War?

From Antiwar.com:

Medea Benjamin, co-founder of CODEPINK, discusses the mixed reactions of Kabul residents to U.S. occupation in Afghanistan, the bevy of competent and credible Afghans who could replace Hamid Karzai, the delicate balance between timely troop withdrawal and obligatory U.S. rebuilding of Afghan society and how most Afghans join the Taliban for economic and security reasons rather than ideological ones.

Wow, CODEPINK's web-site has a story about opposing the increase in troops to Afghansitan.

Yes, Medea was quite clear about opposing a troop increase during the interview too. But that's just smoke and mirrors to me. She's talking about keeping a US imperial presence in the area for the foreseeable future. That's far different than being anti-war, and anti-empire……which is pulling the troops out. now.

Sadly, the United States (We the People) seem to have swallowed the endless lies put out by the Empire to rationalize killing peasants in far off lands. If we really stood for peace, if Obama had actually EARNED the Nobel, we would be bringing, or would already have brought, our troops home and closed the hedgemonic bases scattered around the globe.

They could be put to meaningful work, repairing our crumbling infrastructure, rebuilding unsafe bridges, repairing dams and removing unneeded ones, rebuilding the inner cities. Rebuilding our long dead industrial base, factories, research facilities, etc. Our schools need teachers, they need repairs. My God, the list is endless and currently, it just goes to increasing the bloat of the Oligarchy and the military at the expense of We the People, our kids in far off lands, and the lives of humans far away, who don't even know who the United States is, let alone where it is.

This has all been said many times since 2001 when PNAC got its required "Pearl Harbor" to get the proletariat to fall in behind it. Remember what Goebbels and Goering said.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Joeseph Goebbels, Miniprop for Hitler.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same for any country."
Herman Goering to Gustave Gilbert at Nuremberg, 18 April, 1946

See? It works!
