It may not be obvious today, and certainly it’s not how the corporate media reported it, but future historians are likely to look back at March 13, 2009 as the day that American imperialism began it’s inexorable decline. That’s the day that Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao announced that his country was “worried” about its holdings of over $1 trillion in US treasury securities, and warned that he wanted the US to assure China that it would maintain its good credit and “honor its promises” and “maintain the safety of China’s assets.” FULL ARTICLE

Who, the federal reserve? They have been for nearly 100 years.
I don’t think it really matters, because the bottom line is the same. Mountains of debt piled on top of mountains of debt cannot go on forever. Sooner or later this house of cards is going to come tumbling down.
My thinking is that the International Banking Cartel is behind it all. To find which came first the chicken or the egg, we have to decide just exactly what was the tipping point that started the avalanche and once we do that, lets look around and determine who profited.
I think the author is making the claim that this is really the beginning of the end of the US empire. Now the US can’t afford to bully around the entire world and places like China and India can actually flex their muscles, because the us government is entirely dependent on those government to keep them afloat.
Josh, I think he is too. However I think the end of Empire started way back right after WWII. I think we have started upwards of 40 wars since then, the great majority mini skirmishes, but those like Vietnam, Korea, and Iraq, have been disastrous.
I think the greatest threat to America is the apathy of the American people.
Yup, and empire doesn’t tumble overnight. I don’t think it’s done in the next few years like some friends have been emailing me. but, it’s definitely on the downward spiral. And like a wild animal, we should expect it to lash out pretty rough these coming years.
If one was to look at this in all honesty, one will have to take notice that America did this herself, with the help of us…We,The People. We like the church in the west sat on our hands these last 50-60 years, voted and re-electing the same type of politicians that have forgoten about what the majority has to say, and not the minority as in the lobbiests and special intrest groups who have not spoken for We, the people in decades. So as a member in congress recently said, we can point a finger or 2 at many people for the current problems we in america do have, but never forget that there are 3 other fingers pointing right back at YOU…And Now you know the rest of the story…Good Day !
Steve, if I never voted for anyone in office right now, or anyone who’s ever violated the constitution, would those 3 fingers still be pointing back at me?
