Obama and his Dick (Cheney)

Here’s how well they have us trained: The powers that be are no longer gonna call the illegally detained terrorism suspects (sic) by the name of “enemy combatants.”

Like the pre-programmed robots we’ve all become, we’ll celebrate this as a welcome and much-needed change from the reviled Bush-Cheney administration. A step in the right direction, we might even say.

In addition, the Pope of Hope has promised not to torture. Our society is so fuckin’ corrupt that a US president can announce—without shame—a purported plan to say no to committing crimes against humanity. Of course, we view this as “normal” and we foolishly believe him and even praise him.

Obama’s blood brother, Dick Cheney, happily plays his pre-ordained role in this passion play by going on national television and declaring that our (sic) president’s vague pledge to possibly adhere to accepted international law—a pledge more honored in the breach—is making the US less safe.

The pundit patrol gleefully spins into action. You see, what passes for intelligence and insight in America typically involves being handsomely paid to put on a suit and go on TV to debate whether its Obama or his Dick that’s got it right.

This is mental illness in plain view—unabashed, unfettered lunacy not even trying to masquerade as sanity. If we woke up, it would take perhaps 3-5 seconds to recognize this: Obama is a heinous criminal. Cheney is a heinous criminal. The same can be said for the volunteer soldiers and all those who give the orders; the law enforcement types and all those who give the orders; the judges; the professional liars who stock the media ranks; and, of course, all the humans that comprise the power structure of Corporate America.

Since we habitually choose denial instead of rebellion, our willingness to play along at home by, for example, analyzing the subtle nuances that differentiate Obama from his Dick makes us heinous criminals, too. When things are as bad as they are now, there’s more than enough guilt to go around.

Just about everything about US and global culture (e.g. raping the environment, the propaganda machine, avaricious materialism, insatiable military conquest, sexism, homophobia, racism, patriarchy, etc.) adds up to death and destruction. Yet we—the species with the allegedly superior cognitive skills—opt to spend our time getting worked up over Obama debating his Dick.

Joe votes Republican. Joann votes Democrat. Nothing changes.

Jane human loves Sean Hannity. John adores Jon Stewart. The planet remains in peril.

Joann and John think Obama’s plan is the cat’s meow. Joe and Jane agree with Dick. Big picture: It makes no difference at all.

Whatever side we choose in these fabricated conflicts, human society maintains its steady, relentless path toward mass homicide/suicide. If we ever decide to look up from our text screens and video games, we might actually catch the last act.

Not pulling any punches, as usual, Mickey.  Powerful article – probably not too popular, but maybe in time….

It takes courage to stand in opposition to new, popular presidents. We took a lot of heat the first couple years of the Iraq war. In fact, our very first newsletter was the night the bombing began in 2003, and you wouldn’t believe the hate mail we received.

Over the years, and to this day, we’ve been holding the exact same position on moral principles of war and peace, and we have seen strong “supporters” (more likely Bush opposition) turn into rabid opposition.

Our positions haven’t changed. I wonder what has….

Although Mickey Z hasn’t been writing for this site for that long, I’ve seen nothing but a consistent antiwar stance from him over the years, and am proud that he continues to submit his work to this website.

It’s hard for me to call anyone Dick Cheney, but so far, I’m not really seeing anything new.  I hear new words, but see very little as far as new actions.  Unless you count the new surge in Afghanistan as good – I think it’s disgusting.

I think the author is making an interesting point – these two sides will always play us.  They take opposing positions no matter what – to keep us debating whie the bottom line stays the same.  More war, more war, and more war.

“assumption” we are civilized we shall remain nuts. Sanity on this

A mental illness,probably. Maybe a different sub-species or hybrid. I look at seemingly intelligent thinking humans and have to swallow my incredulity at their gaps of rational thinking. I mean, these are seemingly nice people, but there’s something wrong with them. Whether it’s religion, politics, 911, JFK, the wars, whatever. They have a huge blind spot. I think it must be mind control thru television or something.Remember the meeting between Columbus and the Arawaks? It’s like two separate species.

Micky Z does say it like it is with emphasis ( think profanity ) but he is basically right about those things he illuminates in his article.

Leading off that Obama will change the detainees status from “enemy combatants” to –what?  Just what are they?  Why not say it like it is:  They are mostly innocent people bought for bounty promised to a poor people ( Afghans,Pakistanis, etc )  if they would turn Al-Queda people in.  So Northern Alliance Warlords, seeing a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow, rounded up people they didn’t like and sold them to the U S Army.  Got up to $25,000 per.  The warlords learned capitalism by OJT.  Pakistani Tribal leaders saw the opportunity and took advantage by getting rid of people they didn’t like.

Then they were sold to us people by Cheney and friends as the “Worst of the Worst” bloodthirsty killers.  There are people out there who would almost fight you if you defended these people at Gitmo.  And there they sit, over 90% of them guilty of nothing.

Then a criminal if ever one existed, Dick Cheney, says America will be less safe if we free any of them.  And in a way he is probably right.  If one of them decides to get revenge for the wrong that has been done him, then that amount of  “unsafeness” is added on to all the other “unsafeness” brought on to America by its insane Neo-Con crowd.  And those instigators, the Neo-Cons, want to blame you and me for the “unsafeness”.

We would really be much more safe if we put those Neo-Cons in Prision ( How about Gitmo) and never let them see the light of day again.

Too much gray matter is right.  As long as people are comfy in their suburban homes with their suv’s, they don’t seem to care.  But they do enjoy a good soap opera, and that’s what government and politics in this country has become.

Well this is my first notice from this website.  I thought maybe this political movement was going to be interesting.  If this is a good representation of the intellectual level of the members then I must think again.  A post-modern, “self-educated”, schlock like this deserves nothing for writing such an offensive, reactionary, sub-intellectual rant.  Seriously.

Brandon, I know that you’ll often find articles here that are far from mainstream, but what keeps me coming back is the fact that this is one of the few sites that I’ve found that have an unwavering antiwar, anti-torture, anti-empire position.

But, if you stick around, be prepared to be incensed from time to time – maybe that’s what makes for good discussion.

Personally, I thought this article was pretty good – what did you think was so off base?

As I said above, the verbiage was raw.  But the theme is correct.  Those that are in power, actually for the past thirty or so years have been doing progressively great harm to our country with each administration.

I am here because I consider myself an American with a hope to being a part of returning our government to the people.

I don’t disagree with some of the main points of the piece.  My problem is with the sometimes infantile delivery and post-modern style.  Is this political party seriously trying to get candidates elected or is this just a place where fringe pseudo-intellectuals impress each other with potty-mouth Seinfeldian wise cracks?

Brandon.  I can only speak for myself.  I am looking for a return to our Constitution.  A few times I think I have been called every thing you can imagine.  But I look to the goal.  And I strive to keep my cool.  I feel my children and their children are too important to me accept immoral governance.  That is what keeps me going.   Believe it or not this is the cleanest site I have ever been on.

I am also for a return to the constitution.  To do so we should present ourselves in a mature and thoughtful manner not like some 40 year old hippie that cant let it go.  The framers of the constitution were noble, well educated men who knew how to make a proper argument.

i understand and share the same frustrations. yet, to me, obama is not a criminal. rather, he is a ‘ grand soul ‘ that is attempting to stave off the crap that the greedy and corrupt ones ( the elites who have controlled our planet for seemingly …. ever! ) have dished out to we 98 % of the populace.
obama’s dilemna ( and he, being a ‘ grand soul ‘ KNOWS it ) is that he is immersed in this cesspool of vipers ( the Republican and Democratic ‘ One Party System ‘ ) and figures that if he moves TOO MUCH to the progressive side…. they will do a JFK/ RFK/ MLK/ Malcom X on him.
look at what they are now doing in the mainstream press and media? the elites are ‘ pulling those propaganda strings ‘ and labeling Obama a ….. are you ready for this….. SOCIALIST! a joke , right? the man has always been a centrist, since back at Harvard Law. Mickey, I did not support him or vote for him, or will I apologize for him. yet, the fact is that we are the MOST DUMBEDED DOWN nation in the whole ‘ dumbed down ‘ western industrialized world. look at france, the UK, Germany, Italy…. even Scandinavia for goodness sakes! They all vote for centrist or right wing governments.
Obama will ONLY succeed if the majority of we who work and toil get out on the street corners…. REGULARLY, and shout our issues to the world. if those who call themselves ‘  progressive Democrats ‘ and ‘ truly conservative Republicans ‘ ….. walk away from the two parties, and LET THE PARTY LEADERS KNOW IT!
Then, and only then, Obama can say ‘ I must do the will of the people… the people are speaking loudly ‘ ( and we must hope that they do not eliminate him ) .

THE CASE for REFORMATION:
Concise reasoning to support the abolition of the Federal government of the United States of America.

America has lost its way. From the two party system, Which has proven inadequate to represent its constituencies on either side of the aisle and succeed only in dividing this country based on juvenile party grudges. To social security, The Patriot Act, and the utter disregard for the sovereignty of the states and subsequently the people living therein from whom the Federal Government (ironically) derives it’s power. The Federal Government is like a cancer slowly taking away the rights of ‘we the people’. There are no provisions under our current constitution that would allow the United States Government to create a National bank, assume any role in public education or to engage in war without declaration. Yet, we have the Federal Reserve, “no child left behind” and an ongoing undeclared war in the Middle East. Not only do we have a legislature out of control and an executive branch which has been acting as a monarchical regime for the past twenty years but we have a Judicial Branch legislating from the bench without any accountability from the people, answering only to the other branches of the Federal Government. The blatant disregard for the will of the people and the misrepresentation perpetrated by our so called representative government is becoming increasingly apparent. As an American Citizen I am INCENSED by what is taking place before my eyes and the lack of response by my fellow countrymen. This cannot continue unchecked. Now more than ever it is obvious that the Federal Government and the manner in which its powers are administered is our problem, not corporate executives or foreign enemies. The Government should fear us, the governed, not the other way around. To quote the Declaration of Independence, our true founding document, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.” The founders made it abundantly clear that it was essential that liberty be preserved by any means necessary. It is in the best interest of the States based on the grievances above listed to assemble their respective legislatures to introduce and once again ratify the Articles of Confederation to alter our current form of Government which has been destructive to this nations unalienable rights; just as our founding fathers intended. The Ratification of the Articles of Confederation would create a fundamental change in our Government for the better. If ‘we the people’ are unable to alter our government by a peaceful means then it is our right to abolish it by any means peaceful or otherwise. In the event that the citizenry of these United States are unsuccessful in instituting a new form of government we have but one last recourse. An Appeal to Heaven.

John Adams should have known that the key to good governance was the obedience to the Constitution.  And the people have failed to force the Government to live within that constitution. 

The good news is that our Government can be returned to the people and to the Constitution principles and agreements that were penned back during that Constitutional convention.

All that needs to happen is that the public force the punishment of those elected and appointed leaders who have violated the law.  That includes Political Parties.

#20 – I think  you make a really good point here.  There’s nothing in the constitution that can enforce itself.  We’ve got a system which requires us to rely on our leaders to follow the rules.  If they don’t, we can go years before an opportunity to replace them, and even that rarely happens.

Moral leaders would follow the rules, but normal leaders don’t.

I think John Adams point is that a moral and religious people will be self governing through those traditional channels.  AIG, etc. are examples of immoral and irreligious people and their actions in a free society.

AIG, Citicorp, Fannie, Freddie, Indymac and the rest are plenty immoral.  A lot of fraudsters and thieves there.  But, that’s not the worst.  What’s worse – stealing or murder?  I say the latter.

That makes the politicians in the federal government way way worse than those corporate crooks.  Petty thieves compared to the mass murderers we have in government.

Or are we to desensitized to accept that truth?

Yes lets accept the truth.  Our government does do murder.  In Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.  Let’s not forget the 50 million unborn babies murdered by Roe v Wade and the aggresive pro-abortion policies of our new President.  Prosecuting healthcare workers who refuse to participate in abortions and funding UN population control programs to start.  If FOCA is passed then the bloodbath will increase.  Lets stop ALL wars…the globalist expansion and the war on children and families.
