Humanity is in Mourning

As the six year anniversary of the war in Iraq, this is the day to protest!  Talk to your local news media about why humanity is in mourning over the US occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, and why they must end.  And, talk to them about this news:

  • The Obama administration is considering spreading the “war on terror” deeper into Pakistan, beyond the tribal areas, and into the city of Quetta. The New York Times says the chances of civilian casualties are very high should the US risk igniting mass protest against this violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty. However, the risks for the Obama administration of not expanding the war is great, from the standpoint of perpetuating the American mission to control the Middle East.
  • The growing use of unmanned drones, piloted from trailers in the US, to attack homes of “insurgents” in Afghanistan and Pakistan, could also lead to spreading opposition in those countries, as the civilian death toll grows.  But adding more US troops to Afghanistan, as we have already been warned by Secretary of Defense Gates, will bring more US casualties.

Take a look at the Afghanistan fact sheet for help in talking to people about why Afghanistan is not “the good war.”

I’m sad, and I pray for each and every single innocent that’s been and will be, murdered by the us government.  I hope it stops soon!

This war is a travesty and nothing can save it from its Hell except pulling out.

The hell has already been made, maybe it’s time to end this horror.  I see no reason to continue the occupation another day.  Get out of Iraq!!

Will anyone ever be held accountable?

Its sad that no one will.  But to hold anyone complicit in criminal conduct or war crimes for the Iraqi war would require that those who enabled the Criminal in Chief to fess up.  And their party will provide sufficient support to block any punishment out of Congress.

Both Parties and the majority of Congress knew that the Bush WMD thing was a lie.

It really makes me sick. This war keeps going on, and all we get is excuses as to why it can’t end. When I got into a fight as a young man, it only ended when people stop throwing punches.

Maybe that won’t work, but maybe, just maybe, if the US just pulls back entirely to defensive positions, and stops acting like an occupier, this can be over with.  Vietnam ended right quick with that method, and there were WAY more troops.

Frank-O, I hadn’t thought of that, but you are exactly right.  But the Government knew then that there would be blood in the streets of the USA if they didn’t get out.

Wonder how many lives have been saved since we got out.

Really sad is just exactly what did those 50,000+ American soldiers die for?  Vietnam is a good trading partner now.  You think maybe they could have become a good trading partner without a war?

My guess is yes.
