Lisa Schneider writes at Newsvine.com:
It is time to call a spade a spade. There can be no other justification for the actions of the G.O.P. other than to say they are deliberately setting out to obstruct and incite anger en masse with what should otherwise be, at the very least, a representative voice of the people.
Lisa says it like it is. The GOP has abandoned all pretense of being American first, instead they are Party first. A cheering crowd gathered a few days ago to praise the GOP hero, Rush Limbaugh, after he admitted that his fervent hope was that Obama would fail.
That statement was made with full knowledge that a failure of this stimulus could doom the country to a minimum of a decade of strife, hardship, and a possible end to the American dream. But that doesn’t concern Rush Limbaugh and neither does it concern the GOP faithful. They have adopted the low road. Rush and his crowd want a return to power of the Republican Party, and they don’t care if they have to harm America to do it.
The National Debt didn’t quadruple during the Clinton Administration. No, that happened under the Bush Administration. And the National long-term liabilities rose an additional $50 Trillion during the eight years of Bush, not under Clinton.
I thought Clinton was our worst President ever – until Bush.
The Republican Party is the last of the two Parties in power to have had a chance to stem the corruption. They had a majority in the House, the Senate, and they occupied the White House. There was no one to stop them. Instead they chose to enrich themselves in wealth and power, but they shot themselves in the foot with the War, with De-Regulation, with disrespect for the rule of law.
Now they want to blame the President who the people elected to rebuild their damage. Lisa Schneider calls them out.
