Another Assault on the Constitution

Americans have exercised Second Amendment rights for 234 years. Regardless of the meaning of the Second Amendment, the right of adverse possession makes gun rights final. To assault such a well-grounded right is an act of tyranny. FULL ARTICLE

I think a good rule of thumb is this – if the federal government is doing it, it’s probably in violation to the constitution.  Not always, but as a general rule, yes.

I’ll 2nd That!!  And no, that wasn’t a 2nd amendment pun, or was it?

I’ve written on this subject many times. In Australia, they did the registration, then the gun ban. Everything was to be turned in, even ancient fowling pieces and other historic weaponry. It all went through a shredder and was dumped in the sea. Australia was safe!

I’ve received email and forwarded articles from friends in Australia saying don’t ever let that happen in the States. Criminals know the populace is unarmed and home invasions are now common. The thugs have guns, the people don’t. They can walk in anywhere and take what they wish, especially in the more isolated parts of Australia.

There was a time when the Coast Guard occasionally boarded and inspected a vessel. They came alongside, “requested” permission to board, usually did a “courtesy inspection” of your safety equipment, gave you a certificate and left.

Recently, I recall a story by a retired military officer who was sailing into San Francisco Bay with his wife. There was a lot of wind and they were trying not to become embayed southwest of the Golden Gate bridge.

Out of nowhere, a USGC boat appeared and ordered them to stand by to be boarded. He asked if they could hold off until they got into calmer water inside the Bay. At that, they were told to stay on deck, not to move or touch anything and stand by to be boarded. They were covered by automatic weapons from the CG boat. Immediately a heavily armed boarding party ran from the CG boat to the vessel. The Zodiac slammed heavily into the sailboat, the boarding party jumping aboard and holding the man and wife on deck at gunpoint. His protestations meant nothing. A couple of the boarders went below and literally tore the cabin to shreds, dumped out the lockers onto the cabin sole, what they couldn’t open they broke into.

A while later, they came back on deck, told their petty officer, “Nothng found.” and they got into their zodiac and returned to the CG boat, which then presumably moved on to another victim.

The man and his wife fought for quite a while to get off the lee shore and into the Bay, then the wife went below to find the chaos of the search. Apparently, there was no explanation for the boarding and search, it is just a random action in the “war on drugs.” God knows what would have happened if the coasties had found a rifle or pistol aboard the boat. That story is just one of many.

No, the shredding process that has been going for the last decade or more is continuing. There is less and less of the Constitution for the President and his minions to “protect and defend.” One day, they will tell us thay cannot find it. At that point our flag might just as well have a swastika or a hammer and sickle in place of the stars for they will all mean the same thng.

It’s always incremental, and when you look back at previous decades you can see the pattern.  But the pattern continues along, with us always having fewer and fewer liberties protected by our loving government officials.

A good article…but something key is missing…what the author has failed to inform the readers here…that the bigger and greatest threat is coming from the state and local governments…true the US government ( the ATF) has taken some “dragonian” efferts to go after a couple of people ( one a mane whose weapon miss fired and went to get it fixed or repaired and had the ATF take the weapon and charged him with ownership of a Machine gun…and the latest meadow muffin is concerning a man who has a small company that does repairs and manufactures some parts…or something like that…and the man who owns the firm is not under investigation by the ATF after the ATF arrested the part they were working on…really intelligent huh ? But again do contact your state, county and local ( city & municipal) and see what laws or regulations are on the books…after all “ignorance” of the law is no excuse…so know you know…Go and be free…if not…Play Nice…Play safe…( politically correctly speaking that is…hehehe)

Those state and local governments get a TON of funding, training and support from the federal government.  Get the feds back into their constitutional box and we can deal with our local politicians.

You can deal with all the politicians if you choose to.  Get rid of one of the Major Parties.  That will send a message that they can’t ignore. Now if you don’t try, why should they change?  Who can answer that?

I chose the Republican Party because they loaded up with sleaze and quadrupled the National Debt, more than doubled the long term liabilities, took away rights that used to be guaranteed by the Constitution before they decided it was just a G..D… piece of paper, and lets not forget lying us into an immoral war that has taken the lives of over 4200 American soldiers and a million Iraqis.

Yeah, that’s why I choose the Republican Party to shun into non-existence.  If enough people will join me in shunning that party, the other no good party might take note and straighten up and start representing the people.  If they don’t we will know how to treat them.

No one can stop you from shunning a party – except yourself.  Why not give it a try?

Show me a Democrat in DC – a single one – that I can trust to actually follow the Constitution, and I’ll consider this idea, Cliff.  Otherwise, they’re no different than the thugs that are called republicans.
