With the passing of time, the strength of the lobby, and the level of influence of Israel’s “friends” in the Congress has grown immensely to the point that US allegiances actually jeopardize the interests of their own citizens. Even from an imperialistic viewpoint, the US has no particular interest in supporting Israel’s genocidal policies in Gaza, for example, considering the fact that the US is struggling to find any semblance of ’stability’ in the region that is saturated with anti-American sentiment. This article was and has talked about Change and the lack there of in Isreal’s relationship with the USA. And yet the Author has not written about how little or no change there has been when it comes to Isreal’s arab neighbors, political groups like Hamas who have no political agenda that details or outlines any humanitarian ways they have and will pursue in order to bring peace, harmony to the region know by the politically correct media and liberal press as ” palistine” …so and while the Author of this article is correct that Yes there is a very deep and intertwinded relationship between the nations of Isreal & the USA…but he forgot the bottom half of the bucket…so what he wrote doesn’t ” completely ” tell the whole story…so sadly it doesn’t hold water…but I’m an old guy…what would i know ?
Steve. What gave birth to Hamas? What gave birth to Hezbollah?
What did Bin Laden say about Gulf War I and the United States placing a base in Saudi Arabia? When did the war against the Arabs begin in Palestine?
Those are questions for which little is known here in the U S, but easy to discover by reading history. Those answers show the plight of the Middle East and give credence to the Israeli Lobby that is the subject of this story.
I saw Anthony Cordesman on TV last year claiming no ties to Israel and yet even a surface search will shown him as active for the Israeli cause. In the United States it seems almost blasphemy to speak of Israel as the aggressor. But they are daily committing Genocide.
Actually Hamas was started by Israel as a counter to the PLO. Hezbollah was formed by Arabs to oust the Israelis from Lebanon. Bin Laden told the United States that if they placed a base in Saudi Arabia he would take that as a declaration of war and when we did place that base he publicly declared war on the United States. This was well before 9/11 – years before.
Zionists began to try to displace the Palestinians from what is now Israel well before 1920. The Zionists were committing daily terrorists acts against the Palestinians right up to and through WWII.
The persecution of Jews by the Nazis really helped the Jewish cause because people in the Western Countries , the U S the most, forgot what Zionists had been doing to the Palestinians for years.
Today most people in the United States are woefully ignorant of the history of the Middle East. It has been a Neo-Con playland since back in the 1800’s. Our National policy has been to help Corporate America rape the Middle East. This policy was and is heavily guided by Israel.
