Prosecution of Bush, Cheney, et al

A letter to my local county prosecutor

Dear John,

I live in this area. I am asking you, as county prosecutor,  to go forward with the process to hold both George Bush and Dick Cheney criminally responsible for the illegal attack on Iraq, which resulted in the deaths of over 4000 of our soldiers and countless Iraqi civilians. It is time that we, as citizens, do what even our new President Obama stated in his press conference: ” No One is above the law… ”

Please contact Mr. Vincent Bugliosi for information on what you could and should be doing to bring justice to these men.

Remember the famous quote: “Let justice prevail … or may the heavens fall!

I’ve heard some say that we shouldn’t prosecute Bush,  Cheney,  Etal.  Usually these are Republicans, you know the same people who impeached Clinton.

I’ve heard many say we should prosecute them.  Usually these are Democrats, who didn’t want to impeach Clinton.

What I would like to hear is someone speak up as an American and say why we should or shouldn’t.

Look at what happened during the fuss about the Stimulus.  We had Republicans call for changes, they got them, then voted against the bill.

Folks, the Republicans are going to be obstructive as they possibly can.  Don’t expect Republicans to be American first over the next four years.

I say shun them out of existence.  No one except yourself can stop you.  It will make a positive difference if you shun them.

Remember, Cliff, gittin a BJ in the oval office and being too embarrassed to admit it is an offense in the eyes of Gawd!

Slaughtering a million people, lying, cheating and stealing (as long as it is in the billions) and torturing is now  “the American Way!”

We are living in an abattoir over a cesspool! Such a pity, it used to be a nice neighborhood.

Well, the slaughtering is just business as usual. And the business is quite good these days. I’ve heard some aggressive talk about Iran coming out of the “anti-war” Obama administration – any thoughts on where that’s leading?

There seems to be a fixation in the US “government” about Iran. I’m not sure whether it is entirely or only partially fed by the Israeli government, but they definitely fall into the same category.

If you look at the facts and the history of Iran, you see several things.
1. They have not started a war of aggression in centuries, though they do not shrink from defending themselves.
2. The National Intelligence Estimate for last year found no evidence of Iran having a nuclear weapons program. It also estimated that if they did have one, it would take about ten years to produce a bomb. This has been backed up by other nation’s intelligence and the UN.
3. Iran is signatory to the NPT and the various other treaties and regulations on nuclear development run, basically by the UN. They allow their installations to be inspected as required by treaty.
4. Ahmenajad’s statement in NY was mistranslated and misunderstoood as a militant threat to Israel instead of expression of a belief  that Israel will eventually fail and disappear into the dustbin of history, much as Khrushchev’s statement in the UN “We will bury you,” was meant economically, but we took it as a direct military threat and that was a key to the MIC building the arms race.
5. Iran is accused of helping its neighbors who are fighting for their liberation from the US and its allies. No proof has been found, but the allegation is repeated often as a casus belli. If we were in the same spot in the US, wouldn’t we welcome any help we could get from Canada and Mexico? Iran has a very powerful military. If they were as complicit as the US says, we would have a hard time keeping aircraft in the air. The insurgents (or freedom fighters depending on your point of view) would have lots of ground to air missiles, etc. to keep the choppers on the ground at the very least.

Therefore, to any thnking, rational person, Iran should be considered as a basically peaceful, non-combatant nation. They are on good terms with most of the world. The only rabid anti-Iranian nations are the US, its allies and Israel.

What do we get from all of this? Despite the above, to the US and Israel, Iran is a dangerous nation, run amok, which must be nuked and starved immediately to “save the world!”

Israel, which is signatory to no treaties, allows no inspections, is known to have between 70 and 400 nuclear weapons with delivery systems, which has said they will use the “Sampson” plan if it ever looks like they will be defeated, taking Europe and the Middle East with them, and who receives annually over $3 billion in mostly high tech weapons systems is chafing at the bit to attack Iran.

Obama has kept most of the people who are originally responsible for the mess we are in in his cabinet or as his advisers. Most of them are drooling to attack Iran, or reap the economic benefits for the MIC from doing so.

Look into the issues and draw your own conclusions as to where the insanity lies.
