That was the question of the day (Friday) on C-Span’s Washington Journal. Almost everyone who called in said, “Yes they are still relevant”. But before you Republicans start celebrating, you need to know why nearly everyone thinks they are relevant.
Seems that just as a coin has two sides, so does the answer to this question. I hadn’t really thought about that fact until it began to unfold this morning. You see the people calling in realized that something doesn’t have to be necessarily good or necessarily bad to be relevant.
For example a Policeman is relevant because he can protect you from a mugger and at the same time a mugger is relevant because there might not be a policeman there to help you. And then there are those who take the position that if a Party is going down, they are losing clout and are increasingly becoming irrelevant. My unofficial count seemed to show that the majority thought that the Grand ole Party is relevant – because it is bad. Followed closely by those who thought the party is irrelevant, because it is fading. Of course there were those that still think the GOP is relevant because Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity say it is.
Those who think the party is relevant because it is bad, claim that lest we forget, they were the Party of exclusion over the last eight years and ran roughshod over the needs and wishes of the people and even though they have lost the majority they still have the power to cause havoc as witness the latest vote in the Senate where the Republicans voted 100% against the Democrats, then accused the Democrats of being Partisan. Such foolery does not resonate with the majority of the people. And you know I remember something Hannity said a couple of days ago that went right by me at the time. Hannity said that people must be getting afraid to call in and expose themselves as good Republicans. Does that mean that Rush and Sean are noticing a drop in those who worship the dynamic duo?
The last time I caught Rush (last week) I got the impression he was claiming to be the leader and savior of the GOP. In fact he challenged Obama to put his plan in place against Rush’s plan and see which plan works the best. This, suggested the Rush, needs to be done simultaneously. I wonder, wouldn’t that be like having a tug of war? I mean we already have the Republicans voting 100% against anything Obama or the Democrats propose, is that really good for America? Wouldn’t we all be better off if we all worked together for what is best for America? I noticed that 10 Democrats sided with the Republicans in that Senate vote, but nary a Republican strayed. Wouldn’t a reasonable outcome be that there would be Senators from both parties on each side of the issue, if they really voted for what was right instead of for the party line? – so it sounds like those staunch Republicans condemned 100% what the Democrats were trying to continue, not for the issues but for the party line. That’s why I call for the end of the Republican party. They stand only for two things: Themselves, and against the Democrats. You might notice what was left out was a vote for what was good for America.
Trying to continue, you ask? Sure, don’t you remember who started the Bailout scheme in the first place? Unless my memory fails me, it was that paragon of virtue and economic thought, one George Bush. Isn’t that right? And didn’t the Republicans line up to support their President; in other words, the Republicans voted in favor of the thievery, I mean Bailout. That was over two trillion dollars ago (2,000 Billion). Anybody know where it went?
Sure we know where some of it went don’t we? Lest we forget, a couple of the first Financial Companies bailed out gave over half the bailout funds to their management in the form of bonuses. Have you already forgotten that? Remember the parties and the Corporate Jets? Just remember one thing if nothing else, Paulsen who was put in place by Bush, told the Senate he didn’t know where the money went, but that wasn’t in your face enough. He then went on to say to the Senate, that even if he did know, he wouldn’t be telling the public.
Remember when I wrote an article “The Big Bailout and the Usual Suspects”? Didn’t I reveal in that article that one provision of the very first bailout was that bailout money could be spent to bailout FOREIGN banks? And that Foreigners could get to the money? You think some, or maybe a lot of that money, might now be residing somewhere across the seas in offshore “Private” bank accounts?
Surely you don’t think those honest financial Corporations would be too honest to do something like that do you? And remember, that bailout money is coming from you and me.
People, we need to take back our Government. Quit following the Limbaugh and Hannity line, they are not American, they would lie to their Grandmother if it would benefit them. Send the Rush where he belongs – to drug re-hab (Heard a report today that he spends over $100,000 per year on drugs- don’t know if its true or not). And while we are sending Rush off, lets shun the Republican Party into non-existence. Lest we forget, it is that Party, the one claiming that the Democrats are immoral and financially unknowing , that bankrupted us, morally and financially. Lest we forget.

They sure are. And the Democrats want it that way. When you have a controlled opposition it sure makes your own tyranny that much easier.
Thank you Nope. My sentiments exactly. I am happy to find out someone besides me think they are both as Immoral and Unethical as if they were trying to outdo the other.
With Rush at the helm, i’m sure it’s going to be quick race to the bottom. Good riddance. Now will someone please kick out the democrats too?
