Steve, some great perspective on this! My only point of disagreement is that I think the people of the United states should repudiate any financial obligations that US politicians made. In fact, I would say they should repudiate the national debt altogether. The US government is a criminal organization and those that give a line of credit to criminals are the ones that are taking a risk.

A great read on the subject is Murray Rothbard's "Repudiating the National Debt"

Steve, I'm definitely with you on the UN! Just another set of useless bureaucrats, wasting our money and constantly wanting more power.

Interesting points Mr. Ledman, but even with all you have said, wrote as well as many others who have written about what has been, what is going on, and what will be going on in that part or section of the Middle East in the future the one thing i don't see anyone here comment on is that It will never end, even though it really should, but human nature of all the parties there until the current leadership and their heirs for the next generations die off...there will be the constant battle for one side or the other, will continue to try and kill the other off no matter who suffers...and that sir is the unltimate tradgity...That leadership of Isreal, Hamas are too vain and filed with the poison of hatered to really care how many truely innocent people die because they are to proud and arrogant to say ok..I'm taking 2 steps back...how about you ? type of peace offering...And forget the UN...they are about as usefull as bumps on a boar...politically speaking that is...
