Peter. A person who reads Neocolonialism history will recognize exactly what you have alluded to. The PNAC body cadre, is the AEI Cadre, is the what I call Shadow Government that runs the United States. This Kleptocracy is not composed of only American citizens however. Has it occurred to very many Americans that some of those who rule the U S are not even Americans?
I believe it was Voltaire who said that “Those who can get you to believe absurdities can get you to commit atrocities”?
And I believe that the PNAC Manifesto went something like this:
Create a threat
Identify and denigrate those who present the threat
Propagandize the danger of the threat
Rouse the public to destroy the threat
Sell them protection or create an event to go to war
Provide the War materials – at a profit of course

Ah yes, it’s all a big ruse. Although I generally don’t think the government is anything more than an inept bunch of crooks, there are, as you’ve pointed out Cliff, a number of special interests that do whatever they can to create rifts, catastrophes, wars and the like. And they always seem to profit from every side of the deal.
