Not the Biggest Scandal

A new congressional report is belatedly confirming what many have long known: that the White House and in particular then White House Counsel Alberto Gonzales, lied to Congress in 2004 when he told them the Bush administration was not repeatedly warned by the CIA not to make the claim that Saddam had tried to buy uranium ore from Niger. What is astonishing about this report, which documents that the CIA at least four times tried to prevent Bush and other top officials from presenting that lie to Congress and the American public in the run-up to the Iraq invasion, is not that it documents what has long been known, but that Congress and the corporate media are still pretending that the claim itself was an acceptable justification for launching a war. Dave, another excellent article.  No doubt that these people need to be prosecuted.  Will Obama and the new gang do it?  I wouldn’t hold my breath…

Exactly – these people rarely go after their own, even when on opposing teams…

oh, i’m sure there’s a few other, maybe bigger, scandals that we’ll learn about in the coming years.

Definitely a “kool aid” drinker.  It really saddens me that some Americans are so easily manipulated by our liberal media and liberal Washington  that you know so little about what really is going on.  The Bush administration have been the adults in the White House.   He has kept us safe, he has had tough decisions to make and yes, he has been one not to believe that if you take a terrorist – someone who wants to KILL us – that by holding hands and singing “kumbaya” that terrorists will suddenly begin to love us.  Bush’s mistake was by listening to the intel information that was given him by the  Clinton “don’t do nothing anything, but interns” administration.
You look at EVERY problem in America right now, it was created by a liberal.  Housing  foreclosures, the Fannie and Freddie debacle, the economy, unemployment, terrorists gaining ground in Afghanistan, etc., etc. The problem with subprime loans – pushed by liberals wanting to give people a home, who  didn’t want it bad enough themselves to work for one.  And Obama’s buddies were the ones who masterminded the subprime disaster just in time for the election.  The Clinton Admin. pushed manufacturing going to China.  We’ve lost 30%-40% of manufacturing to China.  Can’t you figure out why the Chinese Government contributed to Clinton’s election campaigns..well Clinton got in the White House and the Chinese Government got our manufacturing.   The War in Iraq and the strengthening  of terrorists in Afghanistan..the liberals actually extended the War in Iraq by standing with the terrorists and saying America should leave…once the terrorists knew that the Liberals supported them taking over Iraq, all they had to do was keep killing, keep up the roadside bombs, and if they made it tough on Americans – that the “weakness” of the liberals would prevail and they would get American troops ousted from Iraq.  Think of this analogy – if you have 2 drycleaners on the same street – they are very competitive, if one announces that it will CLOSE if their competitor down the street keeps laundering shirts for .50 cents, then their competitor knows exactly how to run out the competition- all they have to do is keep laundering shirts for .50cents…..that is basically, what the Liberals in Congress told the terrorists….we’ll pull out if you keep killing American soldiers and sure enough, for the past 4-6 years, the terrorists did that and they are expecting the Liberals to keep their promise and leave their country…….Look at the campaign contributions to Clinton’s “library” fund – Saudia Arabia and other foreign counties, but the terrorists hedged their bets and also gave money to the Obama campaign.  The Muslim countries want to be able to control the Oil industry, fund and control terrorism and the Clinton and Obama administration have supported them and been supported by them…..
To all the “Kool Aid Drinkers”,,,,,in this last election, You got what – They paid for!!!!

Dru. Why are you on this web site spouting nonsense? Are you serious? PopulistAmerica.com is for people who don’t see the divide between both parties because we all know that it is one and the same. So, please, regardless of your affiliation, don’t come on here preaching about liberals this and liberals that and how great Bush is. Sounds to me like you’re the one drinking “kool-aid” and by the long tirade you just typed out, alot of it. Seriously. It doesn’t matter WHO did what, the point is the people supposedly in “power” are crapping on the people of America regardless of if they’re liberal, conservatives, etc, etc.
Ugh, please don’t tarnish this web site for me!

And as to the article. Michael,  Obama is no different than the previous admin and the sooner people pay attention and stop worshipping him like he is god, maybe just maybe we can start to turn this country around…

Nikki – good points here.  Seems to me that with every new administration, there’s a large crop of people that worship the “leader”…and love the president right or wrong.

I guess Dru is a hold-over from the current one.  But, I wonder, when Obama wages new war(s), will Dru love him like he loves Bush?  Does he just love power and war, or is he a partisan hack that only cares about party affiliation?

Would be interesting to know.

Nikki–

good points. probably you are hot. i’m not sure about republican and democrat women, but populist ones should be the hottest.

o but the attempt is probably futile.  bipartisanship probably does just mean they’ve both agreed to  screw us.  what’s the solution? ignore the problems and hope they go away?
